Among the great châteaux of the Loire, Villandry uncontestably owes its fame to its gardens and terraces. They are laid out on 3 levels: a decorative vegetable garden with surprising harmony of colour; a garden of flowers and box-tree; and a large water garden. These gardens are completed by a maze called "le Jardin des Simples", a games area for children. Gardens accessible all year round, and the chateau from early February to mid Novmber.
