A Manor-Guest House with a Thoughtful, Personal Touch
From 01/01/2011 to 31/03/2012
Our Art de Vivre
Open only two years ago, the Château de la Verrerie, a romantic manor-guesthouse near Tours, has gotten rave reviews in the press. Voted the 'Favourite for 2010' by the hip French travel guide ‘Chambres d'hôtes secrètes', this chic but discreet B&B is often described as ‘fairy-tale' by visitors.
The château has 17-hectare park and an intimate, elegant decor. The owners, Philippe and Bruno, welcome guests personally, in French or in English, and in the evening invite them to share an aperitif on the patio or in the candlelit lounge.
The bedrooms each have their own personality. Romantics head for the 1st floor, modernists for the 2nd. All boast state-of-the art bathrooms, complete with embroidered dressing gowns, giving the country manor house the allure of a ‘Grand Hotel'.
Breakfast is served from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 midday, and features organic fruit juice, dairy products, crêpes, pancakes, jams - everything home-made.
