A Michelin Star Restaurant Overlooking the Royal Château de Blois
From 03/01/2011 to 14/02/2011
The Orangerie du Château is offering a '2011 Cupid's Menu' over Valentine's Day weekend.
The restaurant, run by Michelin star chef Jean-Marc Molveaux, is in a princely outbuilding overlooking the 15th-century Royal Château de Blois.
The view is fabulous of course, but so is the food. Chef Molveaux knows his stuff: this can be seen in his choice of products, attention to detail, and respect for authenticity. Or, as one restaurant critic puts it: a talent for never betraying the ‘nature' of things.
Although this year's Valentine's menu is still top-secret, the chef's standard fare will give you an idea of what's in store: filet mignon with truffles, lobster ravioli with black caviar, roasted monkfish with thyme. Top it off with a Clementine poached in spices and one of the fine Loire wines.
The special menu will be offered at dinner on Sat., Feb. 12, Sunday lunch and Mon. evening. Mon. lunch on request. Lunch, from 12 to 1:45; dinner, from 7 to 9.
